I am so sorry to hear that! I just rediscovered you guys on August 31, and I was so happy.
I did just buy a 3-month membership for 9.99 and a 20-rental pass for $40. Is there any way I can get a refund for that, or at least a store credit for purchasing DVDs at your store sale?

This store is an institution and a Hollywood Legend! Where is the petition to stop the closure? Why aren't any big name film makers stepping up to help (I'm looking at you Tarantino, Scorcese, and Lynch)?
Obviously I dont know the real story here behind the closure but I know that Los Angeles will suffer a HUGE loss!!!
Sure Netflicks and Redbox give you blockbusters, and there's streaming, but both of those are seriously flawed. Rocket gives you SUBSTANCE!
Show me a director or screenwriter today who doesn't owe a great deal to indie vid stores like this and the incredibly gifted, intelligent and valuable employees that work there. I would have never made it through film school without Rocket Video (and their ilk).
First the indie bookstores and now this. I'm scared to death of these beautiful and important films, the kind Rocket Video showcases, becoming lost to future generations without easy access to them. Who will represent these titles now? Certainly not Redbox or Netflix, probably not anyone else either.

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear about the store closing. I rented from you for 20 years when I lived in this area. Please let us know if you are opening somewhere else, as I was also so happy to see you briefly relocated further south on la brea. This is a great loss for everyone, not just the film community.
